Re: Seppuku FX
Nope, that DPM-2 and Pitch Monster where the ones I tried to bring over. The pitch monster was bought over the counter in Tokyo and the DPM-2 is in ILF hands.
That sore is weird in that they only release 1/2 of their stock to online sales and the rarer stuff can only be bought in person. They have like a professional appraiser.

Hm, I'm wondering what the hell it's still doing on Digimart then, my bad.
Definitely going to visit that store when I go over there though. My quest for a left handed Jaguar bass shall be completed

Re: Seppuku FX
Digimart is really slow. I think it has to do with the individual shops updating/taking down the listing...like they leave it up in case it comes back to the shop. Ishibashi takes stuff down within a day usually. A few of the pedals I got from the other stores took weeks or haven't been messed with for months (the above ones). TC Gakki seems like a good shop to check out too...but make sure to check the old junk/electronics stores when you are there...I hear that is where the deals are...some people also find quality used stuff left on the curb for trash collection (like synths and stuff).

Noted on junk stores. Also who the fuck just throws a synth out. What a strange country.lordgalvar wrote:but make sure to check the old junk/electronics stores when you are there...I hear that is where the deals are...some people also find quality used stuff left on the curb for trash collection (like synths and stuff).

Re: Seppuku FX
About 10-15 years ago there was a law that was almost passed that electronics of a certain age had to be recycled/thrown out because of power consumption and toxic stuff inside. It didn't pass because (if I remember correctly) because of vintage electronics collectors and investments, etc. I've also read somewhere that because of space, trash costs, and a general like for new things instead of used things that sometimes just "dropping" stuff on a curb is cheaper and more efficient than finding a buyer.Strange Tales wrote:Noted on junk stores. There is a reason that we get so many recycled engines over here...there emission laws require that an engine be replaced after a like 100k miles, so they ship them over here (I think it is also because a broken car throws off the logistics and traffic of the whole road so it is also preventative). It is probably more expensive to repair than buy new partially. Us Americans hold on to everything. If it is made, somebody collects/hordes it to the bitter end (which I think some of that comes out of our country's vast open space). I was reading about Yagawa's PCB collection and he had to stop because of space (Ygawa programmed/deisnged Recca, Ibarra, Pink Sweets, Battle Garrega, Battle Bakraid, and Batrider)...he didn't even have that many really.
People throw out synths here though too. Some people just think that it isn't worth fixing or whatever. Like a family member dies and gotta clear the house...don't got time for everything.
Some of it is just a different market putting value into different things though. Like vintage Mosrites may be more valued in Japan than here, but vintage roland and boss gear is less than here. If an broken Pearl pedal wont sell for 1000 yen in Japan is it really worth trying to sell it for 50+shipping in the USA? Maybe, but probably not, so trash. Not that crazy.
Also, crazy things are found in strange places. Like people find prototype Sega proto PCB arcade games in an old warehouse in Germany (or another random place) sometimes...or they found one of the first 10 Moog modular systems in a cabinet in the Buck Owen's crystal palace...nobody knew Buck had it since it was new and he just put it in a cab in his restraunt and never told anyone. I think the manager found it after he died (RIP Buck). Weird, rare stuff is all over but sometimes people jsut don't value or recognize its value.

Re: Seppuku FX
Here's finally a picture of my recently acquired Mind Warp:

It produces one of the best sounding chorus effects that I've ever heard plus the Seppuku-typical sonic craziness in the extreme settings. I really like it and the graphic design is adorable!

Re: Seppuku FX
There are still two Kompakt Kassettes up for grabs on the official Seppuku site.
btw; anyone heard from Rhys lately? He had a pedal ready for me about a week ago, but I haven't heard back from him yet. Hopefully, it's already shipped.
