How extreme can the Dynamic mode go? Is it controlled by the depth? :animal:

I don't know details, but, from what I can gather, it can get pretty crazy. It's controlled via the volume of your playing.

I like that Alexander Pedals is doing fun weird stuff.

Reminds me of when I first found out about Pigtronix.

Well no shit, I meant like if the depth knob affects the sensitivity. Sorry for the bad wording.

They're not real Dymo labels, they're printed on. The idea was that it is a piece of military hardware that has been modified, so the Dymo labels cover up the original text. If you HATE the labels but love the pedal I'll make you a custom one.

OK, so here's how it works: in Dynamic mode, the Rate knob controls the sensitivity of the envelope detector. The Regen knob is zero with the knob at noon, and more feedback (inverted or non-inverted) as you move to the extremes. The Depth knob is where the magic happens in this mode. With the knob at noon no flanging happens. As you move the knob below noon, the envelope detector will cause the delay time to get longer with higher volumes - that causes the pitch to descend. If you move the Depth knob above noon, the envelope detector will cause the delay time to get shorter with higher volumes, so that the flange appears to sweep "up" with higher volumes.

The Rate and Depth knobs are really interactive in the Dynamic mode. Depending on where the Rate knob is set you can get a lot or a little of control signal. Once you have that control signal, the Depth knob tells the flanger how far it's allowed to move and in what direction. One interesting thing is that the delay can't change instantly, it has to sweep back and forth so the flange takes some time to recover especially from a big move. It's a really interesting effect, and can get pretty "blaster-y." Pew pew pew. The more Regen you add, the longer the recovery time because the delayed signal trails out due to the feedback.

I'm expecting the demo tomorrow, but I have no idea what's going to be in it. Mike Hermans is doing it for us, and he's usually pretty good about doing both normal and weird stuff. If it's not weird enough we might do one with Knobs....

that all sounds sweet.
you should defs try and get a knobs demo out there, Mike Hermans does a great job of selling pedals but the demographic here for instance isn't particularly interested in him so a Knobs demo would probably be very beneficial, if only for not having any cheesy backing tracks distract from the pedal itself :thumb:

I've been doing the Instagram videos, and I'm not good at blooz riffs. I'm a metal guy from way back, and so if you hear one of my vids I'm probably using my MIJ HM-2 or my whiteface Rat or something interesting. Hermans is a rad player but he's maybe not for everyone. He did some killer jazz changes (Giant Steps!) for our Amnesia demo, and he did some very interesting NIN stuff for our Equilibrium video. We're going through Pro Guitar Shop since they have a huge audience, and I need my demo budget to reach as many eyes and ears as possible. Knobs has a much more limited reach, but I LOVE his stuff. It's just a matter of making both smart business decisions AND good artistic decisions. Knobs is down for a Radical demo for sure, I think I can probably talk him in to an F.13 demo without much prodding. :)

EDIT: "not that I give a flying hot dog" about top jacks. Pedal is awesome, this might be my first foray into the land of Alexander Pedals...
