Fuck that game. Bought it for no reason...had no clue what it was about.

Hardest game I've played in a long time.

I beat it a month or so ago. Started to play through again last night on new game +. I've been a fan since Demon's Souls. Love the series/franchise or whatever you want to consider it.

I like Bloodborne better than Dark Souls 2, but not as much as Demon's Souls or Dark Souls 1. Bloodborne is awesome and all but it is a bit streamlined compared to the older games. The older games had a lot more micromanaging of stats and upgrading weapons and armor etc. A case can certainly be made for either which system is better. For me, I miss that old style of tons of weapons and armor and pedantic management of said stuff.

Dark Souls is amazing and is what got me into the series. I've beat all the games, and the first Dark Souls is still my favorite overall. I agree that DkSII was kind of a let down in comparison to the other games, but it's still pretty good.

That's a good thing! There's too many games these days that hold your hand and are basically interactive movies. I like my games difficult. Bloodborne isn't that hard if you're patient and have an understanding of the mechanics.

Yeah I love it too. Finally a game you aren't guaranteed to get through!

Contra is still the hardest game of all time though.

i must say - one thing that fucking sucks IMO is how once you've collected something, if you die and have to go through that area again the loot's no longer there.

Not sure I follow. If you've already collected a piece of loot, why would you expect it to be there again when you came through the area again? That's not how real life works either unless it is a renewable object like a plant growing back after you harvest it.

Isn't that's how it is in every single RPG ever?

this isn't like every single RPG ever, if you die in most of 'em you die & have to start up again from the last save. this one doesn't do that, it reincarnates you at the checkpoint and what you got before isn't there anymore. it's the reincarnation that's different from loading a saved game.

Why does that suck? It's not like the game took it away from you. You still have the items you picked up and you're still earning blood echoes, going back through areas.
