Breckenridge is great stuff. A little pricey for what I like to spend on a bottle but definitely worth a splurge every now and then.

I gotta say... I really don't think Makers Mark is all that wonderful, in fact given the choice i'd probably just drink Jack instead, but I know a lot of people like it.

I hugely recommend Ancoc if you're into Whisky, the 12 year old is also amazing. The most consistent in quality, reasonably priced and readily available Whisky that i've found.

I didn't win my auction on a guitar pedal, so i'm looking forward to buying a couple bottles next weekend (I actually have a weekly budget). Haven't bought an Islay in a while, would like something Peaty to sip on during an evening - it's getting kind of chilly.

Ugg, I despise the regular Buffalo Trace. For a cheap bourbon, give the standard 12 yr Elijah Craig a go if you haven't tried it.
Wait a sec, a $35 bottle is "cheap bourbon"? Dude, we don't all run hedge funds! :(

As far as bourbon goes, give me the Jim Beam black label. Not a fan of Makers. Knob Creek is ok. I've had Bookers, not worth the money IMHO. I'm a cheap bastard when it comes to booze.

Gonna try the Elijah Craig for sure. As far as price goes, $35 definitely isn't cheap but it's not expensive relative to most? I rarely drink so this bottle lasts me like 2-3 weeks at least. Jim Beam is also just fine by me. If I'm trying to get drunk I don't really care what I'm drinking, but if I want to taste it I'd rather spend a tiny bit more and enjoy it.

Can you get Pikesville rye? It's nice and $13.

$30 is the price point I like to stick to when it comes to liquors I buy. Markers for bourbon and Espolon for tequila.

By far my favorite tequila, highly recommend it.

Rittenhouse is also a fantastic rye for the money and makes a great old fashioned or Manhattan. About $25 for a 750ml.

Just recently tried this one and it was delicious. :thumb:

If you want Islay...Laphroaig is my absolute favorite (any of them) My favorites being the quarter cask, triple wood, and 18yr. If you can find a bottle of the "select" grab it.

Laphroaig is great, I normally get Talisker or Cao lla. I've heard great things about the recent batches of Ardbeg 10, so I might go that route.

I like Islay, but they're the trendiest style of Whisky. So I've noticed that they always seem to get a false sense of rarity and get marked up in price for no real reason compared to Scotches from other regions. But Alcohol in general is super expensive in Australia, you really need to learn to enjoy drinking sparingly and shop smart if you have an interest in Craft Distileries/breweries.

Whisky just gets so outrageously expensive just for an age statement. I know that you can just easily buy Glenlivet/Glenfiddich/JW Black, but it's the principle of the matter. :idk:
