Dude, did he try and home relic that?
Fuck that, talk his ass down and tell him he's a moron.
To be honest, I hate that colour, but it does look kinda cool with the matching headstock.
Maybe sticker job the body if you get it on the cheapos.
Price is not firm if owner is fuckwit.

Yeah, for not much more money I'd rather get the one from GC. And even then at that price, I'd rather wait to find a color I like better.

God that one looks terrible.

Get the Squier anyways. The switching is way better than on the pawn shop version.

Looks like shit. I've never understood the appeal of a bass vi anyway. It's not a bass and can't function as one in a band. It's like a super duper low tuned guitar or something? Wouldn't it be better to just have an actual bass play bass parts and a guitar for guitar parts?

Well, I've been using it to write noisy drum and bass stuff. I was doing it before on a four string, but I find that the two extra strings really opened up more possibilities, especially with looping and different effects. And the strangle switch (which the pawn shop version doesn't have) cuts the low end out to make it more guitar-like, which does wonderful things with dirt. Strangle switch on the low E with some heavy drive brings the grind like nobody's business.

It's really it's own instrument. Its been perfect for me. I haven't played my four string since I got it.

Oh, and it absolutely can function as a bass in a band setting.

They make awesome baritone guitars, although you have to extra long strings made for them. As a bass they seem unconvincing for anything I play, but you never know.
