hello senseis. D.o.S. and I were kicking around this idea for a while, there's definitely a load of us around here doing this kind of thing, so let's get some kind of collective drone circle jerk going?! If this takes off, I'd really like to press some cds with packaging and stuff.. after production costs are met (basically cost of cds) the rest can be donated to ILF. w00t??

should there be some added guidelines for recording so that we don't have tracks that are way softer or louder or mono recordings mixed in with stereo ones or something? to make the finished product nice and consistent to listen to?

my original idea was for my buddy and I go to go back through them all and mix them to proper levels if needed. but if you have any suggestions to help with that, by all means! I didn't include anything like that, cause I'm not too sure how to go about

maybe just if everyone submits a stereo .WAV recording with a -2 to -3dB peak that would make your lives a bit easier? then take the lot of them and hopefully someone could do a basic mastering job.
specific rules and stuff are lame but obviously we'd want it to sound nice listening to them all in succession.

I would actually propose a time limit after we figure out how many people are contributing. A CD can only do 80 minutes, after all...
I would be happier putting together a 10 minute-or-less piece than having a 3 dude compilation.

I'm in and might also be interested in doing the basic mastering for you guys. IF we can get the stereo .wav's with -3 to -6 db peak rule followed, I could definitely do it.

If there will be CD's made, it would be cool if people listed the gear they used too. I'd love flipping through a little booklet while listening. If it's not too much of an expense, of course. I'd chip some money in to make that happen.
