Go for it! I'm not sure who's gonna collect these or if we should just make a thread?

Nora, Of course!

Do we have anyone who wants to take a stab at mastering? Thousands of years ago I was on a noise comp over at Talkbass (with some ILF notables) and someone mastered and sequenced the whole thing. He was good at it, and it was cool. I am not good at mastering (in fact, I'm legitimately an Iggy Pop circa Raw Power terrible choice for it), so if anyone wants to try their hand at it, that'd be super awesome.

Otherwise, if you guys want to PM me mediafire/Dropbox/etc. links when you've got pieces ready we can just say "fuck it we'll do it live," as it were. Or we can post 'em in a new thread, doesn't matter to me.

So far interested parties:
Me (so the QC is non-existent, obvs)
BoatRich
Blackened Soul
kbit
Ugly Nora

and
Mr. November is on the fence
resincum I assume is in (based on previous talks I've had with him, but I don't actually know)
good deals are here.
flesh couch is here.

I am down to submit a recording!

Any limit to the length of recording? What is the best file format to submit?

I am in, but it will probably be a joint venture with BoatRich and possibly Skully, shit maybe even Fever606 and GrrBass if we can get them into it!!!

I MIGHT be willing to do the sequencing and mastering. I'm honestly not the greatest but I have the means to do so. To be frank all I would probably do is make all the volumes even and maybe put a tiny tiny splash of mastering reverb on there to unify the sound. It's a drone comp, the dynamics need to be there.

I would love to participate!! I suckzz at mastering though :(

Stockholm had a Drone Night last year (or two years ago). Twelve hours of drone between 18:00 and 06:00.

It definitely be down recording a drone track for the compilation. I'm fairly new at recording but I'm sure I could pull something off.

I'm pretty sure there's no one around here in my neck of the woods, but here's a link to my Drone Day event in Thunder Bay, Ontario just in case.

I just went and bought a nice fat singing bowl so I'm super pumped. I'm going to try to get as much of the event recorded as possible and put it up for free on bandcamp. Won't have time to do my compilation submission 'til this is over, but by golly I'll get it done!

Drone Day Thunder Bay

Pictured: 6-year-old and his dad playing guitar feedback together, a Dreamachine, and some video-synth projections from my 3TrinsRGB+1C.

Image

Not Pictured: Didgeridoo loops, tibetan singing bowls, playing guitars with a Dremel/shoelace combo, and portable drones at the local park, coffee shop, and record store.

What a fun time! Free live album forthcoming.

Drone Day in Toronto was pretty awesome
I didn't take many pictures. Really just this one of a cool cloud head thing:

My girlfriend came along and actually really enjoyed it, which was surprising
Pretty great night. I was talking to the one artist who was using a homemade theremin to control two FM radios
Some cool guitar loops and synth drones too
There was also a visuals room and a record player/light thing like below
