I tend to keep all my custom stuff, stuff I made by hand, and stuff made by builders I like.. it's nice that I don't have to worry so much about flipping to get the next GAS item because I've been budgeting and slowly getting what I want.. the rest go in the display case in my nice new home office

Stuff like Behringer pedals and older (even vintage) mass-market pedals, I'll totally trade or sell. Those I can always get more of.

For me the best way to get usable sounds out of the hydra is turn everything way the fuck down and SLOWLY go up from there.

Depends. All about context and application. It doesn't do chords well almost ever, unless the fuzz is at noon or more, the two octaves are 9oclock or less, and the multiplier is less than 2.5 Thats also a recipe for a thick ass "normal-ish" fuzz with just a hint of octave flavor.

I like keeping all controls at noon, multiplier at 1.5 or 2.5, and lock time just before "breakup", that is my video game sound :) Lock time is normally all the way down most of the time though.

Also, add chorus and delay, turn the multiplier down to .5-1.5, and you've got some serious doomy drone happening.

It's just a tone of fun..heavy, doomy, synthy, ring moddy... But what it is not is an on-always-main-dirt tone, more of a secret weapon.

If you ever do consider getting rid of it, hit me up :thumb: But don't. Just spend time with it and love its many voices.

I was actually stunned at the musicality I was able to achieve with it by knocking everything down and slowly nudging from there. I'm actually building a song using this pedal for rhythm. Once I knock out that song, I'll try higher settings and see what I can use it for.
