I was raised christian. Pretty much decided fuck that at some point. Trips to the middle east have just confirmed my view that ultimately religion is a negative force on society. So I chose to reject religion. All religion.

Raising a child to blindly accept any ideology is kinda messed up in my book. I know it's not anyones fault with how they were/I was raised, but consider raising your own offspring in a way where they are capable of choosing what is right for them, and hopefully identifying reality in the process.
Seeing shrines to teenage martyrs in Iraq kinda fucked me up on the whole subject.

Let people believe whatever they want as long as they don't impose it on others. It shouldn't really be a discussion at all. Some peeps believe that they should honour some jewish zombie by metaphorically eating his flesh and blood while speaking to his dad via telepathy, some peeps believe the world grew out from some dudes belly button, some peeps believe we can transcend reality if we think really hard about it. It's all good, as long as they all love teh fuzz.
