I like this thread. I'm glad I started it now. Haha. I wanted something to change my mind or to tell me I'm nuts, and you did. Thank you. It's me, it's not you. Clearly. There is something to what I'm saying, there is. But does it matter?? No not really.

I think I was just trying to gain a variety of outlooks on what I think and feel. I'm glad we all think different about different things and still love fuzz and each other.

Honestly I can't think of a member here I dislike. Not the case anywhere else. hahaha.

The flip side is this though that I've been thinking about. There's a lot of religion bashing (not in general everywhere or anything) but enough that I've noted it. But when you bash anything else that could be perceived as offensive, people get in a tizzy. It's kind of weird. I mean, technically speaking, if you bash my religion, you're an asshole in my book, but I still respect your opinion and will defend your right to do so. But if I make fun of something what I think it funny (see I'm trying to be pc even about my explanation!!!), then I will get my ass handed to me by the mob.

This is one of those things though that has calmed wayyy the fuck down over the years.. this place use to get in arguments over that all the time… personally I don't care what anyone believes in or not but I do not like organized religions, I understand that at times in history they have helped keeping "people" in check morally but.. who's morals are the most valid?

Eh religion is an easy target here I think. It's one of those topics (speaking as an atheist) that you can over intellectualise to the point were you might be saying stuff that seems kind of harmless but on a closer look is kind of offensive? I think it also depends on where you are coming from. I grew up catholic and even in school the priests of (insert some obscure Polish order here) taught from the modern perspective that the bible isn't the literal word of God and that it's metaphor ect passed down through various human (and biased) authors after the fact because they thought that the lessons that those stories taught were important. We also know that there have been a lot of different versions of the bible that have been filtered through various languages and the zeitgeist of when they were put together. If you come to catholicism from this perspective it's pretty difficult to get offended mostly because you are either arguing morals, which is subjective, or your arguing the ineffable, which is dumb.

I honestly don't think anyone here is really a bigot, at the very least not that I've seen. That means if I ever argue about this sort of stuff it's purely for fun. I enjoy debate and we have some pretty smart folks around here that think very differently than I do and that's awesome (for me at least).

Re: Shirtstorm, science classrooms with girls in them watched that live. When people asked what signal the pretty fricking lurid, NSFW shirt sent about the place of women in science in a very measured manner, they got death threats and rape threats and worse. One of the people on the receiving end of the threats is very close to me. I don't care how aggrieved anyone is because a feminist or member of the "PC police" hurt his (and it's almost always his) fee-fees. Death threats, rape threats, etc., are fucking midnight rides KKK-level terrorism shit.

I'm not saying in anyway that is anyone in this thread, but the mere mention of that incident makes my blood fucking boil. I do not assume the worst of the people who think the initial shirtstorm critique was an overreaction, though I may disagree with them on that point. We cool.

Around here, people can actually take it like someone who has graduated kindergarten when someone points out they're doing something inconsiderate or assholy, or if there is a mere difference of perspective of opinion. This isn't about proscribed speech or thought, it's about the only rule here: try not to be an asshole. If only the rest of the world operated on that rule. It's part of why I prefer ILF to most of the rest of the world.

Devi gets in argument with Rosewave [who has been here as a few different handles] who had a bit too much fan-boy/girl tendencies over something that Devi said on HC.. the argument followed back here… huge shitstorm, Rosewave lashed out at many non-devi humans, Rose wave got banned.

Devi trolls Zvex on HC makes threads here to gloat, Zvex joints.. argument continues here.. Devi bans Zvex or something..

Devi starts new forum making the subform a link to it instead of it just being a sub forum, all old posts devi sub forum posts get migrated [this is why you can't find any of this shit], which a lot of us join because at the time we still used and cared about the damned pedals, Devi forum got even more cult like than the original DEFX forum [later renamed I love fuzz ] Devi and cult attack "old users" [who you know got the word all around the internet, did lots of reviews and defended the build quality and at times Devi for being Devi ect] ILFers had enough.. big argument over there, Devi says fuck everyone and asked to be banned..

Devi Joins again.. Rosewave joins DEFX forum.. they argue.. spills over here again… Spacy has a go at both of them, Rosewave gets banned again… Mudfuzz gets a WOT letter on youtube from RW [whom I have never actually had a issue with ] for posting a at Spacy for IPOM giving it to people that were airing dirty laundry in everyone's face…

All said.. for the most part I always found Devi really funny and creative and came up with some truly badass pedals, and we had a lot of fun here before things got weird

Ahhh see I wasn't here for all of that, but was for some of it. Which it was entertaining at time but sad too. I always liked Devi even though we got into it here once over something I can't recall. I blasted her and I seriously cannot remember why? But she was always cool with me besides that one time and actually really seemed to like me. Relationships are weird aren't they?

I remember reading that stuff on the old and new DEFX page. Such a shit storm forum. Kind of like Harmony Central except worse.

i do use the unread post button, but it seems like there are a bunch of other posts under iluvdoom etc, but when i click on that link it seems like i need to register desperately or something, even though it still has a ilovefuzz.com address.
i dont know, i'll just stick to the regular site.
and i cant deal with those megathreads with a 1000 posts a day in them
