Re: NEW Reverbs from the Dr.!!!
Hey yellowecho, I'm afraid there won't be any upgrades for old RRRs to new ones.
However the new version goes, the changes I'm pondering will mean a whole new box layout and new pcb and components and there's just no way to make such big changes to an old pedal. Sometimes that's possible, like when I make a little tweak to an existing circuit but don't change the controls, but the upgraded RRR will have too many changes. Sorry about that!

No worries- I still love my RRR.. enough that I didn't want to have to sell it to get a new version! What can I say, I've bonded when the sounds and the aesthetic too much... my squiggly lines graphic is perfect for me as is.
Thanks for getting back with me- and so quickly!

Right on, yellowecho, that's a totally awesome pedal board! Really really nice... we're honoured to be on it! I love that finish you have too and I think there might actually only be one of those, two at the most. Thanks again!

Re: NEW Reverbs from the Dr.!!!
Well, as of today we're basically at square one with the screen printing of the boxes. We have to either find a new place to get them done or send them somewhere we know it can be done but we've lost nearly a month for nothing locally. So we're pretty stressed out about it and I couldn't say right now what exactly the plan or time frame is but I hope to know more on Monday.

Re: NEW Reverbs from the Dr.!!!
So Ryan, have you decided to ditch the spring reverb on the new Bigberator?
Sorry just got a little confused by some of your recent posts on this thread and just wanted to clarify.
The spring setting was why I wanted to upgrade from my RRR, but if its been abandoned then I'll probably go for a Miniberator, if you'll ever let me convince you to build a Dark Side one....

Re: NEW Reverbs from the Dr.!!!
Hey Magnus the Second, here's the thing about changing the sounds on the Reverberator...
I got myself a development board for the reverb engine I use.. it's a big pcb with the reverb engine set up and controlled by a micro that you plug into the serial port on your computer. Before I got this thing I was sure that I'd be able to plug into the computer and access the internal programs on the reverb engine and be able to edit them, over-write them, just run a-muck in there. But it turns out you have a choice.. you can use the internal programs like I do, or you can different separate ones and use them.. but not a mix of both. And to use your own custom software you have to set the reverb engine up basically as a computer with a microcontroller and all the support elements like memory etc, like building a computer into a RRR box.
So after all that I've come to the conclusion that the sounds it has now are the sounds it's gonna have in the future! The upgrades will include versatility features, things to make the full size version more powerful or functional, but both RRRs will have the same 9 sounds.
One day, in the who knows how long future, I'll make all my own custom reverb code and use a different reverb engine, but that's such a major undertaking and total change to our most popular pedal that it's not going to happen any time soon probably.
As for Mini-berator progress news... we're finally on track with a printer in Oklahoma and we'll have boxes within a couple weeks! These first ones will be in the Rain Drop-berator finish, then we'll be getting some red ones in March. What a process getting boxes printed though, stressful couple of months!

Re: NEW Reverbs from the Dr.!!!
I love the rain drop berator graphics! almost chose that finish for mine
glad everything is coming together with the smallberator
As for the loss of spring in the bigberator, I think it should still pan out fine
the cheaper smallberator that's readily available for the masses, and the more nichey more expensive bigberator that simply offers more control and maybe a couple more sounds (if modulation is included) but nothing that'll really cause conflict between the two
this'll make one's personal choice between the two a lot easier IMO

Rain Drop Berator???
I'll have to go find pics, that ones not ringing a bell....
Bummer about the Spring setting, but I guess there are other pedals out there for that...
Modulation??? now that sounds like something I can hold out for...
I'm guessing this is the best place to get a heads up on the next batch of miniberators? Like an idiot I held out hoping I could talk you into a custom finish haha

oooooooohhhhhhhh mmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnn
i haven't tried it through my normal gear yet, but on wednesday it'll be death to dry toanz.
i've been trying it on unfamiliar amps and my strat, when I usually play through a twin reverb with a tele.
The rotating speaker + hall reverb setting kicks ass on the track we used it on.
We had an awesome time messing around with that setting.
You can hear it clearly on the musical breaks in our song April, found here:
(probably will be easier to hear if you're using headphones, as it's panned cleverly)
http://www.myspace.com/greenpapermusic
And around March when I have my amp back at my house, I'll record a demo!

Thanks Ry Guy. We're recording an album in April.. should be done around June. I'll probably let everybody on ILF download a lower sound-quality version for free, or pay a few bucks for the .wav version.
