hey guys
i installed this product in a bathroom recently
http://www.warmup.com/products/indoor-p ... at-system/
WARMUP HEAT MAT
it goes under the tile and heats the floor
having ground fault issues with it
the company recommends a TDR Meter
find the fault and repair at that spot
its under sandstone tile
removing the whole floor is not an option
theres only one question here
Does anyone out there have a TDR meter i could rent?
its standard in a cable guys arsenal
maybe one of you guys has one around
they are pricey, and id never use it again
it would come back to you quickly(overnight if necessary)
and in the same condition you sent it
not askin a favor, you'd get paid fairly for it
P.M . me
for those interested in the "HUH?"
TDR sends a pulse down the line
reflects back and tells you distance to fault
TDR Meter? (need help- cable guys, electricians)

That sucks! I hate that sinking feeling of getting to the end of a job and finding out something ain't right.
It's kinda shady but you might be able to pick one up on Amazon and then return it when you're done.

jobs been done for 2 months
its the going back
and threat of having to disturb a tile floor
it never goes back right
luckily its a client i have a long respectful relationship with
he knew the newfangle tech gimmick was a gamble
i wouldnt have experimented on someone new
this guy gets ideas......
so its not stressful in that sense
and the company is somewhat taking responsibilty for it
2 month waiting list for repair kit
seems to be a pretty high failure rate at this point
that means your shit dont work
you cant disrupt the natural flow of an istallation like tile
and not be in perfect working order
this shit should be protected from extreme condtions
notched trowels,full 5 gal buckets,portland cement,boots,sharp tile edges
ehhhhhh the bathroom looks good though
its shittable,pissable, shower/bathable
and theres heat in there
the tile floor is just still cold like the rest of us

pay attention when using that TDR meter. The heating wire is pretty certainly somehow woven in the heating mats, so you can have a few feet of wire per mat. Keep that in mind when calculating back to the place where the error might be from the measured wire length.

Yeah, I used one of those before, the one I had was a Fluke. Wasn't mine, so I don't know how much it cost.
Here in Austria you can usually rent stuff like that from something comparable to your Home depot (called Maschinenring in Austria). Or do you have a friend/relative that has contacts to electricians? Maybe someone can help you out?
