I'm using Live. I prefer Live 8, I just like the look and layout of it. I'm running Live 8.2 (which Ableton says isn't supported by Mavericks) and using Mavericks 10.9
I have these occasional hiccups when using Ableton while rehearsing with my drummer. I use Ableton for looping and its crucial everything runs smoothly. I've yet to figure out what is causing the issue; Hardware - audio interface (MOTU Ultralite firewire version), the version of Live I have, some other App that is causing issues. I turn off all apps, even stuff on the Toolbar like Dropbox, fan control, wifi, etc. but still experience the issue.
It doesn't happen often or consistently. Maybe twice throughout our jam - 30 minutes.
I'm considering doing a fresh install of Lion and hoping this might solve the issue.
Anyone still using Mountain Lion? Ableton live related

I've done that but I don't see why that would be an issue? I was running the buffer pretty low a long time ago without issue. I think it was when I updated to Mavericks that I started having the issue. I'm at a buffer of 256 currently. CPU usage in Live isn't ever high, either.tuj wrote:hmm, try increasing your audio buffer size?

hmm, other thing is to check the apps you have running. If you can reproduce the problem, try watching the activity monitor for CPU spikes by another app.

Did a fresh OS install of Mountain Lion. Everything seems to be running smoothly. I got an SSD about 2 years ago and cloned my HD. I'm wondering if in the process something got messed up.
