Anybody planning on buying the new MTG Duel Decks?
I've heard a LOT of butt aching from those crybabies on MTGSalvation, but to me, the Kiora Deck looks pretty tight. Elspeth=soldiers, which ='s meh for moi. But 2 planeswalkers, one of which is green and blue?! Fuck yeah, sign me up! There's a mana ramp/sea monster theme as was expected with Kiora's deck, with some nice reprints (lorescale coatl, Coiling Oracle, Inkwell Leviathan, Accumulated Knowledge, and Explore). Shitty thing is, in spite of the deck lists being spoiled, I still have to wait until the 27th to pick it up. I'm expecting some nice interactions with Kiora's deck drawing cards and growing the Lorescale Coatl, too. And the big creatures appease my inner Timmy. I get excited for the sealed products more than most because I'm restricting myself to being a kitchen table casual player. What about y'all? Do you EmTeeGee? I won't take offense if this thread is completely ignored

Did they include Fuzz as a new source of mana? Or include any of Devi's artifacts?

No -- I'm not buying them as I have since bowed out of MtG because it's full on paper crack for me.

Same. I still like to play with my brothers a few times a year but haven't bought new cards in ages. The introduction of planeswalkers totally turned me off because I am stubborn and stuck in my ways. I guess that has been a few years ago now too.skullservant wrote:Yeah I bowed out of MTG a few years ago for the same reason

You're the second person to have said that. I started back in the days of 4th Edition. But I still love that there are planeswalker cards now (first appearing in 2007, I believe). But I tend to merge good old cards with new ones when I build decks. I'll always love Necropotence and Ernham Djinn/Armageddon decks. And off and on through the years, Magic has been paper crack for me as well.trace wrote:[ The introduction of planeswalkers totally turned me off because I am stubborn and stuck in my ways. But you live close enough, relatively speaking, to hang with and play a few gamesneonblack wrote:I can't even. This thread should have a trigger warning.

I'll have to unlock my magically sealed box of decks. It was meant to be sealed until the end days, but I'm sure the incantation is scrawled somewhere in some pile of scrolls. May the gods forgive me.blooghost wrote:But you live close enough, relatively speaking, to hang with and play a few gamesneonblack wrote:I can't even. This thread should have a trigger warning.
