I haven't experimented with stereo feedback abuse in a while... need to try that out with my Cathedral and DD7 tonight. Good tip on the bypass loops, too! Thanks doommeow

Also, this is drone created with an EAR 4096 oscillating + Griztlizer.

Though I know building these kind of synths is super cheap parts wise, if you feel like DIYing.
I've bought the minimal drone synth (and the 4 channel passive mixer) off this guy and the builds are solid
and totally affordable. I've been looking at picking up the C/V sequencer as well.
I'll totally vouch for this guy.

Ok so I haven't had a ton of time to play with them but the Rucci stuff is really well done. So I have the CV Sequencer and the Maximal Drone. As stand alone drones, they are cool together, so much tweaking available. BUT! If you add lets say a fuzz, and a delay it get extremely crazy.

The Drone Thing you mentioned in the beginning of the thread however trumps both of these in flexibility and sound. Why? Well because the Drone thing has built in gain to push the drone as opposed to having to hook something else up to it. You can run it independent and it will sound so much better. I scored one at NAMM for 120. I was also going to buy a Blackfly but they were out by the time I got back to them. That things is fucking AMAZING. It's a spring activated insanity machine. With the Drone Thing is sounded so damn good.

The oscillators on The Drone Thing are much more responsive as well, not sure if it's just because of the gain circuit in there? Dunno. It's great though. So noisy.

Now the down side is there is no cv options, which I don't quite understand. Also it would be nice to have a fucking input as well as output. I hate that.

So I love them all, but I think The Drone Thing wins hands down. Plus those dudes were so nice, that I want everything they have made.

I'll try and make a demo of my noise board, it will show you more of what the hell I mean. LOL

That's funny I was just considering buying the black fly last night, seems really fun. But I've already got a masf scm which is somewhat similar.

Dude it's cheap enough to be worth trying. So much fun. Alone, it's not that great but with other stuff, it's killer.

hahaha. Well they both are good, but The Drone Thing is better. I guess it's not actually a gain structure exactly but filtering that causes it to get in that realm. When I was messing with it, it was straight up distortion on some settings.

I think you'll be happy though. They both are great.

^^ That looks bad ass. Is this something you are having custom made or will it be in production?

Also, this is relevant to the thread..I posted this in the GAS thread too...I just ordered a sweet Shruti box and foot pedal. :!!!:

As of now, custom made. Might spawn something production worthy in the future if duder enjoys building it but thats not my project.

Shurti box seems really fun for acoustic jams.
