Loads of picks, with an abundance of the sexeh Jazz III's I love. They came in a cute lil' box that I'll forever use for my picky needs and desires. FOUR CDs!!!! two of which are sweet, sweet mix-tapes. Loads of bands I haven't heard - the ones I have heard are great, so looking forward to finding out about the rest of 'em. Cool t-shirt, bestowed upon me by the t-shirt Gods apparently And last, but not least, the Baby Quasar, which is a pedal I've checked out and GASed over, but never pulled the trigger on. It feels great having that taken care of, and from the little playtime I got tonight I gotta say it's awesome as fuck. Just the right lush phaser sound that I like fo' ma spaceh jamz. Also, actually the first time I think I've nailed my imagined sound for that sweet ass "Any colour you like"-lead. Thank you so much, bro!



Now I'm looking forward to seeing doommeows reaction to the gifts o' the old Gods.

After the rugrats went to bed and I could have five minutes of my time for myself it was time to open ILFSS, MANTOOTH STYLE!

Christmas card with such a great note. I swear I didnt cry when I read it. Glad I hadn't hooked into too much Christmas beer otherwise it might have been a close call.

I don't know what's better - the fact that this book exists at all, or whether Mantooth was awesome enough to include it in my ILFSS package. I laughed a lot when I saw the title - what's even cooler is that it is actually a cool and fun read with some great photography and general funniness.

Then there was the mother load.

So I plugged it in and understood nothing, as it should be. Remember, knobs + star wars = win. Knobs + star wars + St = mega win. Within the next hour I got lights glowing, things flashing, octave fuzz, modulated tremolo glitch, crackles, pops, bleeps, screaming sirens, atonal noise, relatively clean ring modulation, daleks fighting. You name it I probably found the sound, or will find it tonight. And that's not even with using any of the expression capabilities. Which are insanely extensive.

It was almost a bit of a treasure hunt - working semi-systematically through the knobs and switches, seeing what did what. A fuzznaut on an expedition of sound. I felt exactly as a santee should - like a kid at Christmas.
