Agreed. I don't like to give people who can't take the time to spell their listing correctly or take a decent picture any money at all. These ampegs just come up so seldom for less than $300, it's worth mentioning.

While $140 would be hard to beat, GC probably sold it for $299 which is not bad. My GC tends to have really good deals on used 'obscure/unknown' or 'low quality' tube heads. So good in fact that I wonder how little money the people that sold/traded them got. I do see VTM and Butcher heads on craigslist for ~$200 most of the time.

I got my "broken" butcher cheap. the equivalent of tapping it with a hammer fixed it. I love that thing and would not sell it. I mean ridiculous offer, sure. but it'd have to be extremely ridiculous. I did the choke mod, swapped some pre amp tubes for lower gain, cleaned it, the thing sings, mine is the 6l6 version. I'd say grab em while you can but I would want to do some serious haggling with that guy.

I sent him an offer at 200 saying.. it doesn't have a chasis, no footpedal and I'd have to build a enclosure for it.

He responds he hasn't seen them sell below 450.

I sent back an offer of 150 with a message of "yea they were complete, in an enclosure, didn't have an idiotically high price attached to them, or an apparent clueless owner with delusions of riches dropping out of people's pockets.
