So, are you all rocking staytrem bridge+trem? Are there any other essential "mods" one should do to ones VI? Just trying to ballpark how much I will have to save up. Just getting a Squier VM(black with red tortoise I think
)

Staytrem bridge and LaBella strings for a thicker gauge are essentialUglyCasanova wrote:So, are you all rocking staytrem bridge+trem? Are there any other essential "mods" one should do to ones VI? Would like to get a new trem though, my stock one rattles a lot. Had to tape the trem arm in to stop some of the rattles.

So, I'd have to file new channels in the nut to compensate for thicker strings? Boring, haha. I'm a guitarist though, so maybe the stock gauge would feel okay to me....MrNovember wrote:LaBella strings for a thicker gauge are essential.UglyCasanova wrote:So, are you all rocking staytrem bridge+trem? I do fine with 24-84 but the stock strings are not that great and very floppy.
Good deals: OsbornKT, Phantasmagorovich, UglyCasanova, DarkAxel, Skip, D.o.S, ColdBrightSunlight, Eivind August, Goroth

Re: Let's see your BASS VI, people
Yeah not so much about the feel as it is the extreme floppiness. I found the E string completely unusable before I switched strings
Also the nut is pretty shitty. I didn't bother filing the nut at all and don't seem to be having any problems

So, here comes another n00b question. Can I just play it through my AC30? I don't gig, so I'm not playing crazy loud, nor did I plan on turning 'bass' to 11. If not, recommend me a small bass amp that I'm sure to be able to get almost anywhere.

Nothing too exciting or boutique/vintage here.
Just my Squier Bass VI with a Staytrem Bass VI bridge.

First demo I recorded was through my AC15. Sounds a lot better through the Verellen but it won't destroy anything.UglyCasanova wrote:So, here comes another n00b question. Sweet! Thanks man! About to bite the bullet and start shopping. Staytrem folks are on holidays until January 5th though... Bummer.
