My point in posting if it was necessary was because we all are pretty much aware of the companies already for the most part. It didn't take long for most of the big ones to be named and it's just turned into a debate ever since.

At times like this I believe some inspirational lyrics from the greatest Rapper of all time are in order.

I believe this might be one of the greatest Feats of English.

93,
IMO you are talking about a minority on Christians. Unfortunately they can be the loudest.
Just like the majority of Muslims are not members of IS and do not share a lot of beliefs.
Actions speak louder than beliefs. Someone can belief that homosexuals will go to hell and that's ok, it's when they start persecuting that I have a problem.
Implying that Christians are "bad" based off of beliefs and not actions is fucked up.

The policy issues I listed are the manifestation of political action, not personal beliefs. If you choose to lay the blame on the vocal minority they are impressively effective.

We're debating "is it okay to hate gays if you keep it to yourself"?

It's almost 2015.

I say we take off, and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

And I like you. The things you speak about in regards to homosexuality, health care... Ect do not match my beliefs.

I am a believer in human rights, compassion, equality, and that we are all equal.

I in fact have been chastised by Christians more than most people I know. That's what happens when you have a minister for an uncle, strong Catholic family and everyone else slamming their beliefs down my throat.

I believe in justice and righteousness and do not support any form of bigotry like some.

Can we be done now? I'm not feeling very fuzzy about all this.

I agree it's a stupid belief. But who am I to say what someone can or can't believe.
Things change drastically when beliefs turn to action.
I want to be clear though that I hold no grudges against any of you.
I don't like catogorizing people is all.

As a member from the UK, this is an interesting thread to me. Religion isn't something that crops up much in daily life over here, certainly not in mine and I never would have thought to associate it with the soldering of electronic components to make circuits that alter a guitar signal!

I don't think that the UK is full of atheists though. I don't get that impression. There's perhaps just a pit of ambivalent confusion left in the cultural landscape where the church once stood. But I'm a left-wing, liberal atheist who reads books about quantum mechanics and complexity theory so I'm unlikely to run across many people who 'believe' anyway. I share Bill Callahan's view that 'a void without a question is just perverse' and I'd go further and say that everything should be up for questioning (which is Buddhism I suppose), but I also think some people lack the strength or tools to do this and need some immovable rock to tether their existence to in the form of some kind of 'faith'. Faith to me seems a failure of intelligence and rational integrity caused by fear and ignorance (my intellect and rational integrity fail me all the time, especially when faced with fear), but I've met religious people who I found to be wonderful human beings and I think it's important to accept individuals compassionately, their frailties included, Lord knows we've all got them!

If I were to buy a new pedal from a builder/company (something I've never done because I make my own or buy s/h) and they were advertising the fact they they were Christians then I'd be a little put off, both by the association to a religious belief and by the inclination to advertise it in a business arena. But I've been around long enough to notice that (religious) beliefs have necessarily evolved effective ways to replicate within the medium of human minds. And sticking its brand name (eg. Christian) on a website is one. So as long as there are minds that support these beliefs, this kind of thing is inevitable, so I'll choose to ignore it.

Remember, if you are an atheist, there is no such thing as Hell!

But yeah, I don't think its ok to have that belief either. Quite the opposite in fact.

All the same to me, bro. My point was that I don't care if people have supernatural beliefs. I know this thread is focused on Christians, but from my point of view this topic extends to all religions and beliefs.

Anyway, I agree with a lot of what has been said, and maybe most of all with what jwar wrote: Lets make a list of pedal manufacturers with bad business practises and crazy attitudes instead. Some Christians are homophobes, yes, but there are a hell of a lot of homophobes who aren't Christian as well. Let's make a list of homophobes instead of focusing on those who happen to be Christian as well as homophobes.

I mean, the bible isn't exactly clear on homosexuals. It can be interpreted that it's against, but fuck, the bible can also be interpreted to say that you should roam the streets blowing a horn on the first of every month and never shave. And I don't see most (or any?) Christians doing that. Point being: Assholes have asshole opinions based on being assholes (and bad upbringing etc.), not because they have faith. Any worldview can be used to defend being an asshole if you're already an asshole. Etc.
