Out of curiosity, does anyone know where I might find an aluminum neck that would fit a fender jaguar?
I don't think I'll be swapping out the neck right away, but it'd be nice to know for future reference.

Also, my guitar has this "bass cut" switch thing. I never use it because I honestly can't hear any difference. I'm not even sure anymore which switch position is supposed to be the bass cut and which position is the regular signal. Would anyone know how to make this feature more noticeable? My guess is that there's some kind of high pass filter circuit for that switch and I'd have to change some capacitor/resistor value to adjust the range of frequencies that are allowed to pass through. Can someone please confirm/deny this suspicion? I should be more confident in this guess considering I'm paying thousands of dollars to learn this shit.

OR: does anyone have any cool ideas on how to repurpose this switch into something more badass?

is it just a stock jag? If so, one of the best options for the bass cut is to turn it into a series/parallel switch.

It's a stock classic player hh jag. Each humbucker already has a coil split feature. I'm not familiar with series/parallel switching. Is it in any way similar to coil splitting? Or is it something completely different?

A series/parallel switch will connect to two pickups to form a loop, so they become like a large humbucker, also more output.

So would a series/parallel switch in a guitar that already has two humbuckers in it be beneficial? Would it form some kind of legendary quadbucker? Other than higher output, what advantages does looping two humbuckers to make one large humbucker have? It just sounds like this switch would be better suited for single coil pickups. Which isn't a bad thing because I could just split each pickup before I turn on the series/parallel switch.

This switch seems like a cool idea. I'm just trying to fully understand what I'd be getting into if I were to install it.

eh, if you take your time + have a basic idea of what you're doing, then you'll probably still have a functional guitar when you're done with your mods.

I can't think of the last time I didn't mod one of my electrics. Every one gets locking tuners and strap-lock ready buttons at the very least.

My main guitar was a Gibson Sg for about three years but I broke the headstock a few many times so I traded it to some craigslist dude for a jazzmaster. It was in almost pristine condition, I just had to fix some wiring. I never wanted to mod it because it was too pretty, but my friend broke the neck in his car, so I had to put an old 90's strat neck on it from a strat I don't play anymore. One small mxr knob on the volume and no tone, the tone knob on the rhythm circuit for lower output/killswitch tones. After that I didn't give a shit about modding it. Mustang bridge, A few stickers, friends drawing and carving on it, locking the trem arm in, and it's gotten a shit ton more beat up. I feel a lot happier with it, now that it's not some precious thing, it's just my main guitar! I also forgot how good the strat neck felt, definitely one of my favorite profiles I've ever played, and from an old '91 mexican strat, who'da thought?
