Sonny's a good friend of mine, and I love the bluebeard on bass but on guitar it never did anything for me either. I used to play drums in front of a Bluebeard > 2 Model T's > Sunn 6x12 4x15 and 2 4x12's.... At gig volume I could never figure out what he was playing.christianatl wrote:I hated the Blubeard.

No, its more that its a very thick and blocky fuzz. It sounds massive but lacks definition in chords (imagine Sunn O)))'s low end feel but without any of the grit and clarity from the Rat). On bass it's perfect though because your not playing chords and its got gobs and gobs of gain and low end.samzadgan wrote:never played one...does it suffer from the mid scoop issues?Ancient Astronaught wrote:Sonny's a good friend of mine, and I love the bluebeard on bass but on guitar it never did anything for me either. Meatheads are awesome. Never played or heard the deluxe meathead. I have a Meathead clone I built with a switch for standard and dark settings and a pot to control oscillations plus another pot to create an impedance load so I can use it with an active bass or hotter pickups . So heavy, so crazy.misterstomach wrote:i loved the meathead deluxe that i got to play. would like to find a good sounding clone for cheap 'cause i just can't shell out the kind of cash they go for on a fuzz.

Back down to one board, since I've not been using both amps recently.

Thanks dude. I've got damn near any dirt tone I could want with that combo. The LTD may or may not get the boot in favor of something like an EQD Arrows.

Thanks, dudes.
The Echobox is one of the best delays I've ever played (never played a DMM though). Handles fuzz/distortion just fine - not quite as well as the Disaster Transport, but really close.
