Don't post outside of the gear threads much, but this caught my attention.

I've been doing my first campaign as DM (4E) for about half a year, but it seems to be falling apart. Every campaign I've played gets to ~lvl 10, and then people start getting spotty with attendance, or just plain hostile. So frustrating because I love playing when things do go well.

when you get to that point as a DM you need to find another story arc or side-quest that can keep those hostile/less-interested folks hooked back in. something out of left field always seemed to keep my campaign groups interested.
i'll be doing something like that for my main group next week and i'm pumped to see how the respond.

that's what i've done before. I've kidnapped one of the party members and had the victim try to escape some hairy situations while the rest of the group tried help the other out.
took 3 sessions to complete and started a new story arc which lasted about 4 months.

I'd suggest a Skype group for D&D, or preferably Pathfinder. Though, timezones....

And i'll have to rebuy those lost books.
