Anyone have a line on a decent guitar for under $150? I don't have anything for standard tuning anymore. The best option I've found so far is an 80's USA made Peavey Nitro I, but it has a Kahler bridge on it and I never use temolo. I can just block it off, but I prefer hardtail guitars. If anyone is unloading anything cheap or knows of something they wouldn't mind snagging and shipping to me, lemme know.

Used Schecters can probably be easily found and are decent guitars.

I just picked up a lower end dean model on ebay for 60 bucks for it including the shipping and a gigbag. Turned out to be a pretty sweet grab.

Not even sure what it is:

guy even replaced the strings cause they are brand new... not that it matters I'm not keeping it in standard tuning.

Good call on Krosis, I've recorded a lot of bands that had Schecters and they always seemed solid. I'm finding a lot of low prices used all over the place.

Might look into a Dean as well SLK, I had a Dean 8 string bass that was really nice. Depending on if it's one that doesn't have one of those crazy huge headstocks.

I like the huge headstocks, I have 3 other ones. the more absurd ones, but all have been great solid guitars.

Realistically, it doesn't matter what the headstock looks like. I could always reshape it in a few minutes, no problem. Searching a bunch of used gear sites now, seeing what deals I can find.

I won't ever get rid of my Schecter C1. The newer models seem to be hit and miss, but there are plenty of good ones out there for hella good deals. Probably because they all reek of brocore and axe body spray.

And Skip should definitely get that PVKVLT stack. BECAUSE KOWLOON WALLED CITY TOANZ.

I've hit my quota for new guitars this month, so yeah, Skip, show us this 7!

:idk:

I emailed Brent to get the deetz on it and find out if there would be any way to set it up for my tuning. I really can't afford it but.... A seven string monson is my end all and this one isn't totally insane looking (except the headstock). If it can be intonated for drop F... I might have to do some stupid shit....

^^^ Yeah, I saw that one too. Totally not my style, but given Monson's rep, probably a killer guitar. Hope it comes through for you!

We'll see. I have a schecter 7 with the same bridge and style of 24 fret neck that would not work for my tuning as the low saddle bottomed out before hitting perfect intonation. So I'm praying it's extended scale cause the neck looks bigger and longer than normal. Gah.... We will see what Brent says...

Any interest in a seven string? I've got an older Schecter revenger I'd let go dirt cheap... I could set it for B stand, which has a standard tuned six in there technically...

That's a Gotoh flatmount 7, like the fixed-bridge Ibby 7X21 series, yeah? I've heard that you can replace those with the Hipshot 7s - the holes don't line up, but the old holes are covered by the new bridge. You could then contact Hipshot to get one of those shorter saddles that they've been making for 8-strings, which would give you a little more intonation travel. Just a thought.
