Upgrading Cell Phone
Any of you up to date with cell phones?
I'm apparently able to upgrade my phone any time.
I'm currently using an iPhone 4. I honestly don't use most of the apps so I'm tempted to downgrade to something simpler. But I'm also tempted to stay with something similar just for the video and internet capabilities, and the few apps that I do use (Maps, Instagram, Kijiji, Strava, Facebook)

Re: Upgrading Cell Phone
i still use a Nokia flip phone
i've really been thinking about going Smart.
part of me want to just go iphone for all the usual suspects. i've Never owned any iphone.
the samsung looks cool too. i'm just not that keen on Android apps. i have a knock-off Android tablet. i DOn't use it.
i'm thinking i Would use an Iphone. even just for the basic cam/video/ phone stuff.

Re: Upgrading Cell Phone
Yeah awhile ago I was really considering getting some super phone like the HTC One or something
But after thinking it over for awhile I realized that I barely use what I have now and really don't need another computer
Also started thinking that I really don't want to relearn how to use a phone
Maybe I should change the title of this thread to "stop me from being lazy and getting another iPhone"

Re: Upgrading Cell Phone
I recently upgraded my iPhone 4 to a 5s and couldn't be happier about my decision. The camera and video are just as good as the old point and shoot camera I have (quite a bit better than the camera on the 4), I use it as an iPod, and I can facebook stalk people while I'm pooping. Plus the processor is a lot faster than the previous phones.

Re: Upgrading Cell Phone
Recently upgraded from Galaxy S3 to an LG G-Flex, shit is so pimp. Huge curved screen, perfect for forums, youtube & facebook, in widescreen/sideways. If you don't mind having a larger phone, it's also super slim, and it's really great to have the big screen, which is almost like a mini tablet. I put a few weirdo noisy synth apps on it just for fun, haven't ran it through the rack yet though.

Wait for the new iPhone to come out in a month or so before you make your decision. Personally I dig having the capabilities the iPhone provides and like it generally more than the Android phones I have used in the past.

My wife, one of the least tech savvy people in existence, figured out enough on her own to have it setup and in use before we got home from the store.MrNovember wrote: I really don't want to relearn how to use a phone

But wait until after the September product announcement.

Re: Upgrading Cell Phone
Yeah I have no doubt that I could easily learn a new platform
I just don't know if I want to
Waiting for the September release dates is a good idea though
Even if I don't get a new phone all the older ones will be cheaper

Re: Upgrading Cell Phone
I've been swaying on the iPhone a bit because for me the music app is just pitiful. The music app on my original Moto Droid running Android 2.0 was better. Songs randomly just skip, I'll select one song and it plays a completely different one from a different artist even. Wasn't always like this, might just factory reset it.

Re: Upgrading Cell Phone
Even though I hate itunes and will never install it on any computer of mine, I'd agree that waiting would be good. The Nexus 6 and the iPhone 6 are poised to come out, and that will drive prices of other phones down.

Re: Upgrading Cell Phone
It sounds like your current phone does everything you want, so why are you looking to upgrade? Usually you get one free upgrade every contract period, so I just save that upgrade as a kind of insurance for when I break/lose my phone.

Re: Upgrading Cell Phone
Also, keep an eye on Target. They ran a sale on the iPhone 5s for $99 and 5c for $29 when we upgraded. They also have a trade in program and were doubling trade prices that day, so we ended up making enough off of the trade to buy groceries for the week
