Question for Michigan ILF'ers

I am planning on moving back to MIchigan (Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti) with my band. I was curious how the music has been, also if you know of any active Michigan bands I can check out.

Not really sure how tht side of the state is doing. Grand Rapids is a little more hit or miss. Punk/metal/ hardcore suffers on the wet side because the DIY venue got shutdown and there hasnt been much of a revival. Probably a lot more going on out in those places you mention plus Detroit being nearby is helpful. Might depend what kind of music you play.

There's a pretty happening psych scene in ferndale/ann arbor area. Some buddies of mine throw an annual "echo fest" bringing bands from the midwest together to fuzz and echo peoples faces. It can be cool, some really talented bands...and some blatant velvet underground/doors ripoffs.

We're just south in ohio and are always up for show trades and such. I'll help where i can!
