Masking off the fretboard/other bits
Whats the best way to do it? Because ive tried a few different ways now, and im now cutting 1" strips of masking tape to cover the edge of the fretboard.

The way i have now seems best, but a little time consuming...

I think that you can get automotive painters tape that is only 1/4" wide.

Re: Masking off the fretboard/other bits
All the suggestions here will work well. One recommendation is to NOT just stretch the tape the length of the fret board and then push it down. Pull the tape out little by little and push it down as you go, along the finger board till you get to a fret. Then slack the tape a bit and push the tape down, allowing it to follow up and over the fret. This will ensure that the tape isn't "bridging" between frets causing a gap for the finish to get sprayed into.
