never have but from what I heard they don't sound any different than the standard 412L cabs.

from what I understand it's the same thing as beta lead minus reverb.
and what I got from googling it to make sure not only that but apparently this: "the mid and treble control are shifted down on the beta bass about an octave from the beta lead.
As it relates to sound, the bass model should be slightly thicker sounding depending on the mid setting, and the treble will have slightly more upper midrange content and brightness capability."

I doom on a beta bass with guitar. Works either as a clean platform (though some people think they sound sterile) or it can rage with its own gain.
