Just did some super lurking (forgive me ryansummit) but the Sheffields in this picture that you posted are 1290's, which are 16 ohm, which makes me think the cab is 8 ohm :doom:

My gear is spread across many realms, but I was cleaning out in the warehouse today, so I took a shot of my guitar half stack and the bass amp gear I have in storage.

Image

Peavey VTM120 head, Marshall 1960B cab, Greenboy Dually (Faital loaded), Crest ProLite 2.0 stereo power amp (what I run my Dunwich preamp into), Greenboy Dually (Eminence loaded), Ampeg 810e and '70 Traynor YBA-1. All my instruments are at home with my Carvin X100B head, 2x12, GK MB800 head, DIY 110 cab cab for practice/demo recording and my drum kit as at the Warp Rig practice space.

Damn RyRy, Hope you get that sorted. 14 12's.... that'd be a proper amount of speaker.

These ones are just ported full range 2x15s, not the fearless stuff that has subs, mids and tweeters. I don't use lots of treble in my tone and I hate tweeters. I like these because they're super loud and bassy. I can use a low wattage amp with lots of gain and make it loud enough to gig.

I hope it works out Ryan!!!

And yeah, I tested everything out last night, the cab is 8 ohms and is in fact what the back reads! Used the Spaldo with it last night and it was heavenly

These casters are a life saver haha. This is by far the easiest cab to move around that I've had haha. If you want me to send you a few bucks so you can get yourself some casters let me know!
And I think I'm going to leave the name plate as is. Eventually this 2x12 will be joining my other one at Grr's and it'll be facing the right way cause I'm going to stack them.
But it sounds gooooooood man. Handled all of the gain that I threw at it last night, nice low end retention and the speakers were nice and crystal clear and articulate with no real coloration. My favorite kind of speaker, neutral!!

Have you tried the VTM as a bass head?
