Now Weezer, I didn't think they qualified as emo until this thread. some damn fine songwriting there. Maybe not all of it but the standouts are great.

That's how I feel about Weezer. They're great, but I always thought they were too tongue in cheek to be 'emo' .

I'm with ya there. I've never been hugely genre conscious. As far as I'm concerned music fits into two categories.
Music I like,
Music I don't like.
I mean I'm not completely ignorant, and things like crabcore i'm aware of and can use to filter anything in that group directly into the "don't like" category.
