Don't know if any of you are knowledgeable on the subject but ^ that
I basically just need it for gaming (PS3) so it needs to be 1080p
It's going to be in my bedroom so probably 32 to 42 inches; nothing giant
The cheaper the better and I really have no use for "Smart" TVs or 3D TVs or any of that nonsense
I would also consider other options, like a good computer monitor and a set of speakers or something along those lines
Vizio makes a pretty awesome TV for not a lot of money.

There's a rad (on paper) Phillips I've been thinking about getting. Anyone used a Phillips? Growing up we only had sonys (trinitron FTW) but I haven't owned a TV for the last 14 years and am kinda outa the game. Will see if Visio exists in Sweden and check Samsung.

That’s quarter-assed at best.
im in process of pickin out a tv as well
did some research
supposedly its better to go roku than smart tv
roku and apple update apps and shit more often than tv companys
at least thats what i keep reading
ive had a visio and it was actually real good
ima keep my eye on this till i get one(this wknd?)
im gonna do the roku stick
seems to have all the benis of roku 3 but 1/2price
except no headphone jack on remote
the tjing im concerned about is torrent downloads
i know now i can put whatevers on my ipad onto the tv
but not all video files work on ipad
anyone use torrents and get them to play through tv
apple tv has the mirroring right?
or am i gonna have to plug computer into tv directly
F all that
Get the biggest Trinitron that you can.
Destroy your back and any table that you set it on.
Enjoy those glorious pre-HD video game graphics.

I had one of those for a couple years, so good for n64. I got it for free because some of the inputs were messed up, and eventually it stopped working altogether, so some friends and I dragged it outside and shot it with a potato cannon. Good times.

This has been the fate of so many of my failed electronics...I've got a dead laptop waiting for target practice right now
I think I have a sony something… I use it almost never use due to just using the computer screen... It's good tv whatever or something.. it came from a pawnshop.. I recommend something like that… a Tv from a pawn shop

I got a samsung smart tv and love it. Their line is great and affordable if you're in the market. If you don't need the smart tv check their other stuff. Plenty.
Go to Craigslist and get a used TV. I scored a 2013 40" Samsung 1080p LED TV, Samsung 3D (but tv isn't 3D) Blu-Ray Player and wireless keyboard for $280.

Wow that's a steal
I was trying to go the kijiji route but it seemed that 95% of the ads were scams or were ads from electronics stores

File support is the key to enjoying downloads in your living room. It's a pretty common feature in TVs and bluray players now.
We have a Vizio 47" 3D TV in the living room. It has apps for youtube, facebook, amazon, netflix, hulu and a ton of other shit. Since it is a 3D TV, the regular picture on it is naturally better than any non-3D TV. It also has 2 USB ports on the side, and supports all kinds of file types (mp4, avi, mkv, flv, wmv etc), so we can download video torrents, put the files onto a thumb drive, and pop it into the TV for watching. We have a 64 gb thumb drive for movies, and a couple of 32 gbs for tv shows and le sexy time.
Before the Vizio, we were doing it with a cheapo Samsung bluray player and a Sony Bravia 46", which are now in the bedroom.
