It's like a reverse Firebird meets Jazzmaster. Very cool in a weird way.
Really love that purple pickguard.

That IS an eye candy ! I really like this hybrid design. If you have some spare time, don't hesitate to post sounds.

So far damn good! You can make dive bombs with that guitar. No Tuning afterwards necessary. Amazing.foomanfat wrote:How's the Mastery trem treating you?
Getting The Tremolo Bar in and out is pain in The ass though. Really a streghty thing. But in The Case you can leave The Bar on. But normally i use Gig bags because i Ride by bicycle to The practice Space...

Yeah, I was shocked how well the Mastery vibrato worked out on my Jazzy. Incredibly smooth with insane tuning stability and I love that the screws are flat and don't interfere with my strings. You do have to give the bar a decent tug but they actually recommend leaving it in always so I'll probably start doing that. Also love how you can tighten or loosen the cuff to get the bar swing tension to your liking. And the brushed finish on mine is dead sexy.

Re: Deimel Firestar Custom
Oh yeah, great guitar for sure!
Nice, open, clear, ballsy and responsive is how I'd describe the sound.
It's difficult to play on a righty Jazzmaster type guitar when you are a lefty though, mostly because of the trem.
I'm also used to just a little bit higher action than the way you're running it and I'd probably use thicker strings (0.11 at least).
It does seem to have the same kind of sound qualities as your other Jazzmasters if I remember correctly so maybe it's a Jazzmaster style thing, I don't know, the Deimel Firestar is probably my favourite though.
I haven't played that many Jazzmaster style guitars, another German friend of mine who has a collection of old Fender guitars had a 1966 Jazzmaster which was one of my favourite guitars out of his collection and that one, while still sounding open and clear, seemed to have a bit more mids I think, but then again that could also be the setup.
Overall your Deimel Firestar is an awesome guitar I think.

I don't see any fire in that photo, but the guitar sure does look great coming through the darkness of that stage.univalve wrote:baptism of fire:
