Lennon was amazing, even though for the Beatles period, I am more of a Paul guy. He was killed when I was a year old.

Dimebag was an amazing guitarist, and Vulger Display of Power and Far Beyond Driven contain some of the most brutal guitar playing I've ever heard.

John Lennon was a genius. I absolutely love his work, both solo and with the Beatles.

-edit- This is the kind of thread for that sorta thing.

I guess when a tribute to two completely opposite musicians you get opposing opinions, though.

I didn't know Dime on a personal level so I can't speak for his views on politics and race (these things are hard to gauge, he wasn't really a songwriter, he was a guitarist)
I'm pretty sure Phil was racist, he said some pretty offensive stuff on stage...but he was a jackass drughead who didn't get along with the rest of the band.
Dime certainly looked the part, but he was always an outspoken critic of the things Phil would rant about on stage.

By all accounts he was one of the nicest, most down to earth guitarists in the biz.
Even at the height of Pantera's popularity he was known to just hang out with fans and chill over a beer, shooting the shit. People always gushed about what a kind soul he was.
There are some that call me...morningstaru?
