I really, really dig the Bluebeard.retinal orbita wrote:I'd like the tone bypass of the V4, plus the endless sustain. It's the only muff I've ever lovedjrmy wrote:What are you looking for in a Muff?so I'm open to variants.....
It also has a tone bypass so...
Ehh, kinda, but not really.colossus wrote:Does anyone else feel just a little bit sad when they read an interview with some awesome guitarist with awesome, lustworthy, ear-splitting, chest-crushing tone, only to find out it's not coming from a crazy boutique pedalboard (like the kind I've put all this money into), but some shitty, beat-to-death Arion that was bought at a pawn shop for $15?
It's not about the money or amount of pedals or anything except what they do with what they have.
If a guitarist can get super awesome sounds with a neon-green Dean into a Crate practice amp, more power to them.
Same for if a guitarist can get super awesome sounds with thousands of dollars worth of pedals into thousands of dollars worth of amps.
Of course, it's way more interesting to read about a bunch of interesting, expensive, or rare gear.
I'd definitely be way less interested in a band that plays a Peavey Valveking than one that plays a Science amp.
I think if a band has uninteresting gear, I don't think much of it, and just appreciate the band.
But if they have cool gear, I appreciate both what they have and what they do.
