Really? Everyone I know is considerably taller than me.
I'm like the shortest dude I know, with the exception of one or two.
At least I'm taller than most girls I meet.
That sounds kinda sexist, but its a bit awkward being eye level with boobs.
The temptation to look is pretty much unavoidable.

The Locust is just really cool to watch live. It's like those guys move and contort differently. Stopping and starting, twisting their bodies at odd angles. They took abrasive to a whole new level in some instances. Really cool band to watch live.

As far as Blood Brothers... I think they probably opened me to a lot of different musical avenues. Listening to "This Adultery is Ripe" could take you down one path while playing "Crimes" was a journey in a very different direction. I thought "Young Machetes" was a little disappointing, more so now, as I go back through their catalog and find that one far more forgettable.

Catching them in touring on "...Burn, Piano Island, Burn" was an awesome experience. They did a tour with These Arms Are Snakes that just blew me the fuck away.

That phase of my life got me very into weird, arty hardcore but also got me to explore some of my other options.

I just checked ours. According to the ABS:

In 2011-12, the average Australian man (18 years and over) was 175.6 cm tall and weighed 85.9 kg. The average Australian woman was 161.8 cm tall and weighed 71.1 kg.

On average, Australians are growing taller and heavier over time. Between 1995 and 2011-12, the average height for men increased by 0.8 cm and for women by 0.4 cm, while the average weight for men increased by 3.9 kg and for women by 4.1 kg.

In general, older people are shorter than younger people with the average male aged 75 years and over (169.7 cm) being 8.1 cm shorter than one aged 18-24 years (177.8 cm). Women aged 75 years and over (155.7 cm) were also 8.1 cm shorter than women aged 18-24 years (163.8 cm) on average.

Which is an average of 5'9" overall and 5'10" for younger guys (not that I'm in that 18-24 bracket).
So odd though, as I just don't ever meet dudes who don't tower over me.

It's a pretty easy formula -- kids who're into hardcore start smoking weed and playing slowly. Boom -- everything from Melvins to Kyuss to the NOLA Scene.


And we can see why all the doom bands went to shit, too -- because the "Hardcore" starting gargling dog appendages a few years prior. E.g. all that Saetia/Hot Cross/White Belt Bullshit.
