Yeah this really sucks. I was hoping for a hoax but lots of local richmonders/friends of the band confirming on Facebook... Amazing frontman who I've had the pleasure to see live 8-9 times. Hopefully this doesn't spell the end for the gwar/slave pit camp, a Richmond institution for sure.

I hope they keep the gwar-b-que going as a memorial type deal, such a great time I've been every year and the gf and I were already getting pumped for this year since they just announced the date. :(

I was never a big fan, but it's sad to hear. He seems like he was an amazing, creative, great guy. :(

They will continue. The guitarist died in 2011 and they retired the character. I assume it'll happen again. I don't think Gwar will ever stop. In Richmond they have their hands in so many things and it seems the money is generated off the band and trickles to the Slave Pit.

Not the best jams but one of the best sets ever. Enjoyable.
