Re: Drone Synth for table top project
So.... Here are the thoughts for the specs.. Pulligntogether blocks this weekend and goign to bread board a bunch. Have pcb's for others
so I am thinking of:a Mono output Drone with:
1) 3 LFO Osccilators (1 555, 2 NAND), 1 input , All with send and return(doubles as single output), volume, freq controls. switches per channel: on/off, freq range
2) Mixer with: insert , HP,LP
3) pulsing LED's
4) CV
5) switchable PT Delay with modulation
Have it in my head...
the Nandimonium has much of what I am looking for, its 4 LFO NAND with delay cv, missing is the switchable freq, snd/ret, insert to mix HP/LP and a on off for LFO's and Delay.. . I spoke with them about customizing it. If they come back with a good number I would build this for fun and buy that we'll see :-)
My thing is really a delay Lab esque implementation of the Nandamonium sort of a cross between The nandamonium and sleepdrone5 with an HP/LP and slightly more complex buss.. So completely Different ROFL.. Stay tuned has to be made between work, and other projects...

Ok, that's a sexy idea.
Good deals: OsbornKT, Phantasmagorovich, UglyCasanova, DarkAxel, Skip, D.o.S, ColdBrightSunlight, Eivind August, Goroth

Re: Drone Synth for table top project
Brought my Idea to a synth manufacturer.. they are interested.. I'll start breading this thing this weekend but don't be surprised if its a product soon from a great mnf.. Do not have time to make any more products for sale
here is the short list of specs
1) 5 Channel
-4 LFO Osccilators (4NAND or combo Nand/555)
-1 input - would love it to somehow control or be modulated by an LFO In that case it would be 3 lfo + 1 input
-All with send and return(uses 2 shorting Jacks a LOOP) configured to:
+ single output to bypass mix buss
+ Send return loop for effects
+Shorted to be strait pass to Mix Buss
-volume, freq controls.
-switches per channel:
+on/off,
+freq range (could be 2 difernt ranges on a 2pdt with 2 caps)
-CV with a parallel CV for chaining Can be switched but needent using shorting jack
2) Mixer with:
- output to Insert (really same as Send/Return above, a LOOP),
-HPF switchable
-LPF switchable
3) pulsing LED's if possible
4) switchable PT Delay with:
-modulation
-Speed (pot or CV?)
-Feedback

Re: Drone Synth for table top project
This past year I've been working on a capstone project for my engineering physics degree, which basically entailed building a robot
This got me interested in electronics and all that so when I get the time I think I'd like to try my hand at something like this.
I think I'll be following this thread for a little more inspiration along the way
I would definitely love to build something along the lines of the Sleepdrone 5. Might be a bit ambitious for a first musical electronic experiment though
