Yeah, man!! Gonna give it a try and see how it goes. It's kind of silly since it's the same overall size as a 6x12 with only half the speakers :whateva: but hopefully I push some fucking volume. I'll have to replace the EV's in my 2x12 though. Th 1x15 has an 8 ohm Weber Michigan. The 2x12 has EVM12L's and can be either 4 ohms or 16 ohms. If I mismatch, I can run 5.33 ohms (2x12 set to 16) but the Michigan might blow from seeing way more power. If I run 2.67 ohms (2x12 set to 4) then my head might struggle because it only goes down to 4 ohms.

So I'm kinda lost as to what direction I should take. Keep the Michigan and get two speakers up to that add some character/flavor to match the impedance, or keep the EV's which are loud and clean but then have a hard time finding a flavored 16 ohm 15" speaker for the bottom.

Suggestions? :idk:

Canadian dude making cabs. I think he just moved with his family so he is taking a break. I found this second hand and traded it for my Ampeg 4x12. It's much lighter than the Emperor but built sturdy. The edges are not dovetail or whatever it's called, they just line up straight and are tightened together on inside with a block of wood running across the whole edge. Figured it also helps with bracing since there is no other bracing bar or anything. But yeah, not bad. Just super annoying squared screws. As in, the type of screwdriver you need has to have a square head. Whatever that's called.

Yeah dude you definitely want to match impedance's on your cabs!!!! I'd suggest getting a 16ohm 15! If you want one that's cheap and will match those EV's nicely I suggest this eminence: http://www.usspeaker.com/Delta-15B-1.htm 16ohms 400/800 w power handling and the tone is amazing for both guitar and bass. Plus its got a 100db sensitivity so it should be loud!!! Add on that its only 100$ and I think you got yourself a winner!

Yeah I sussed their construction methods, all mitre joins, hardwood bracing. Seems like it makes sense.
I love those skinny corner guards, though.

square drive. there's multiple sizes so make sure you get the right one. i'd guess a number two. if you're driving a bunch of screws in a day they are far easier to work with than phillips head. but i can understand that things like that are probably pretty annoying for regular people who don't have a bunch of different drill bits laying around.

anyway, nice looking cab. congratulations.

I played the Michigan 15 by itself without pushing too hard as to not blow it but it sounded pretty fucking good. Better clean than driven, but still pretty good all around. Driven just added gobs of low which isn't too bad but hoping it's not too slow for faster playing. I think I'm gonna hold on to it and swap the speakers in the 2x12 to pick up the mids. Plus it will be nice to lose some weight on the 2x12 because those EVM's are crazy stupid heavy. Crazy. Stupid. Might look into some used WGS, or Eminence. I just want something LOUD to not loose the feeling those EV's put out. Would ideally love se vintage Fanes but I'm on a budget. And I didn't care for the Weber Thames much. I think, my last resort will be some V30's. Even though I haven't had them in a few years.

Miters are way harder to get right than dovetails.
More guys need to do what Olde Crow is doing.
Oh god, mixed impedances, what a fucking shit show that was for me.
Also, FUCK YEAH ROBERTSON SCREWDRIVERS!!!

Snapped a pic of all my shit as I was loading everything back after playing last night. Only thing missing is my telecaster. Haven't been this stoked on my gear in a while. Just need to find a bass cab that handles the power of the SVT. My 810 starts farting out fairly soon. At least just a hair before it's loud enough to keep up.

Left to right:
Traynor YBA-3 into a Scumback M75 loaded '74 Marshall 4x12
'71 SVT w/ matching 810, Fender Precision, a couple of pedals.
Sound City 100, EVM-12L loaded, rear open back Emperor 2x12, Weber Michigan loaded Olde Crow 1x15,
Rickenbacker 480, a couple more pedals.
