I was browsing proguitarshop this morning looking for a cheap pedal to go with their Valentine code, and they had a link to an article entitled, "the cult of Klon".
The whole thing is retardageddon.

also, can't you actually order a new Klon, like new from the guy who made them, for less than $300?
yeah, there's a wait, but as someone who's waited a year for a pedal, a little pre-order never hurt anyone...

I'm only wearing cool headbands when I play my tube amps, now.

But I've been havin' a hankerin' for an amp that'll give me that crystal lettuce sound.

Nope. There were 1500 made of the KTR and now they go for around $600. A new wave of them is supposedly being released this or next month, but that's what was said about the KTR and it took like five years.

ah…to be honest, I really don't care much either way…not something I've ever felt like I needed. :)

It's been reverse engineered, and surprise surprise, it's yet another Tube Screamer, or YATS for those who have done this enough times. I know board policies here aren't favorable toward too much info on how to clone a current-production pedal, but let's just say that it's at the forum where you would look for a schematic of a boutique pedal, and there's a veroboard guide available on a site that puts those out.

Some mild tweaks and quirks. Nothing revolutionary, with several of the tricks being old hat in other YATSs. By comparison, the Klon actually had some originality to it and is far beyond just being a modded TS. Doubtful that there was more than a little tinkering happening here.

Weird wasn't the East River supposed to be a Tubescreamer? I wonder what the differences between the two are.

That's it goddamn it. I'm building etched Klon clones and selling them for 800 bucks a pop. Who wants the first twelve?
Make sure you get as much black goop on the circuit as possible. It seems to be the secret to amazing tones
