Amazing, truly truly amazing. I mean that.
Its things like this that make me want to pursue sound design and music as a career in general.
Just listening to this is making my head buzz with ideas on how to recreate it and use it in a musical context.
Man, when questions need to be answered,

On another thought: the sun is producing those bassy pulses, right? So they should get louder/more intense the closer you are to the sun. So the sun is basically the most giant ambient drone machine ever. And it holds the world record for longest song ever.

Sounds like something I could record from my minitaur but then I realize where it came from and it gives me chills. Cool shit.
Space has some serious low end.

You just blew my mind, dood!
And to explain my previous post - that's some baaaaad video I found that someone made of an excellent Vonnegut short story. The story revolves around (get it?) hearing the sound of black holes and the effect it has on people.

That was very trippy. Makes me think of quantum physics and string theory. Everything in the universe has a resonant frequency? Amazing stuff. Thanks for posting Psyre.

Re: The Sound of SPACE
This is really cool, but I'm not quite sure what it is.
Sound waves can't propagate through the vacuum of space.
So are these actual sounds or are they electromagnetic waves interpreted as sounds?
If it's the latter, I wonder how different from anything else it sounds.
The light from an airplane, a puppet, an orange, or a spoon might be just as beautiful sounding as the light from distant galaxies.

Re: The Sound of SPACE
Cool stuff.
The article says this is the first time space sounds were recorded but I know I have seen out of print cd's of space recordings from a long while ago. So, who is lying here? Think about it -- why would this be the first time out of all the space missions that have been launched that sound was ever recorded? How hard can it be for a dude to stick a microphone out the window as he is flying around? It's not rocket science.
