One thing I really liked about the finale is that Walter went into the lab to die. This makes it look like he was cooking the whole time, leaving the legacy and blame with him. I felt like the finale's pacing was a little rushed at parts but I am still pretty happy with it. Great series overall for sure!

I didnt think about it like this I looked at it as he knew he was going to Die and so he went to the one place he felt alive.

i just thought he was checking out the lab :idk: and he was like, shit this is a really nice meth lab

All of these are probably true. But I also think he did it deliberately to wash Jesse free. He pretty much tried to be as good a person as possible in this last episode. I mean, he didn't even put real hitmen on Gretchen and Elliott. And he told Skylar what she wanted to hear. I mean, it IS a part of the truth and maybe the interview with Gretchen and Elliott has made him see that more clearly, but the "I did it for my family" thing still rings true.
(I almost cried when he caressed little Holly, I would not have minded if that scene had gone on for 10 minutes and in the end you just see the policecars light the scenery.)

My wife and i had the same feeling: He really felt alive and was happy doing the "high level" meth cooking like no one else. So it was like reconcilation with his whole life to die happy in a surrounding he loved.
Best show i have ever seen.
