Yeah I'm thinking of checking out the 15, I just got some interest in my my MusicMan HD150 (finally) so perhaps if I can sell that soon I can pick it up.

Bag End cabs are seriously great. They're awesome for both guitar and bass. But, I wouldn't buy them unless portability means a ton to you. That's just my opinion, though. I don't like to spend a lot of money on cabs.

Can you elaborate on the portability bit? I'm curious as to what ya mean.

Sorry for the late response. They aren't light (I think the 15 is 50 lbs?), but they're physically really small for what they are. That don't take up much space. Like, I would totally be comfortable putting a bass on my back with a micro head and then carrying the BagEnd around to catch a bus or whatever.

Whoa. I looked up the Cougar series and seems they're built by Kustom's parent company im Deutschland but apparently blow everything Kustom makes out of the water. Curious how reliable they are but it sounds like a great-sounding amp for $600 new. I'm really really tempted by it when I get my tax return...

Yea, probably not too hard, and certainly worth it. The on/off function already has a foot switch jack I believe. I thought about doing the same, and keeping the unit itself on my amp. Just don't have the money for another random project right now, sadly. Just stick you a jack where the rate pot is now and you don't even have to drill a new hole.

For the JC120, some people say the older Roland speakers were better (but who knows, that's just 3rd hand info from reading forums like this). I'm sure it would be a nice amp. $400 is a square deal, maybe it's not the bro price though. $300 would be a sweet score.

For the Bag End cabs, they are probably ported. Some people prefer sealed cabs, the ports allow it to get deeper (and louder?) though. Some Bag Ends aren't terribly efficient, that info would surely be available on their website, or Google the model # and check out the stats (PDF file). I have sealed subwoofers by Bag End rated at 96 hz (considered "not loud" so they require a lot of watts). The closer to 100 hz the better, and 1 dB does actually make a difference (sensitivity rating). You can always get moar dB by adding a 2nd cab though. I think you get an additional 3 dB every time you double your bass cabinets (but don't quote me). The Bag End cabs I've seen for touted bass are more cube shaped, I'm not famiilar with those, but a bigger box is usually better for low end extension (deep bass).
