^ Couple of short story collections off the top of my head:
Ernest Lehman "Sweet Smell of Success". A screenwriter (he wrote "North by Northwest, "Sweet Smell of Success" and plenty of others) who could also write great short stories. Great ideas, great execution.
Charles Portis, "Escape Velocity". Not just short stories, it includes essays, journalism, bits of memoir and even a short play. Love everything Portis writes and this is a really good collection.
Charles Willeford, "The Machine in Ward Eleven". Willeford's early stuff has a similar sensibility to Vonnegut's, so you might like this, too. Six stories about madness by a really good writer.

I am Legend.

Don't let the movie fool you. It was terrible, and they changed it such that the whole point of the book was taken out.

This is why I hate reading news online:

"His letter warns Rodman that Jong Un will deny the existence of Camp 14 and would refer to Dong-hyuck as "human scum," which is a common way for North Korean officials and press to describe those who flea North Korea."

Thanks, Fox Sports.

Now, please, employ a copy editor.

Yeah, but I hear that Rodman's gonna form a "North Korean Three Stooges" with himself, Dong-hyuck and Kim Jong Un.

Should be pretty funny.

I've been reading whenever I have free time, in the last week or so I read Ham on Rye and Post Office by Bukowski, The Book of Longing by Leonard Cohen, And The Hippos Were Boiled in their Tanks by Burroughs and Kerouac, and I just finished Fear and Loathing. I started reading A Million Little Pieces while half-watching the super bowl.

Apocalypse books:

Magaret Atwood: Oryx and Crake trilogy: fucking awesome.
Peter Heller: Dog Stars
Hugh Howey: Wool Trilogy, poorly written, but still interesting read
Paolo Bcigalupi's books: Wind Up Girl, Ship Breaker, Drowned Cities. All really nicely done, relatable near future

Lost this book about a year ago, found it again recently and I've been eating it up. Great read.

Also I finished reading Carrie. As someone whos never read any of King's material, this was really, really great. Gonna read the shining next. :excellent:
