You can find cheaper-ish places in Seattle if you know people or have time to look. Otherwise it sounds exactly like what you're looking for.

Maybe you can sleep behind Mudfuzz's wall of amps and Vs?

Basically, avoid the midwest and northeast. They are stagnating as people move south where there seems to be more economic opportunity, and that is causing states like those to raise taxes and fees to compensate for the lost revenue.

Hmm, Texas is general looks good, lots of construction work and seems pretty cool about gun laws as well, which is nice because i do own guns.

Would definitely recommend away from the Northeast. Don't get me wrong, I love it there...But the job situation is dismal and taxes/cost of living sucks all your money away in no time.
Asheville is an awesome place as far as music scene, super people, and lots to do, but you've got to commit and go there before you get hired it seems. I tried my best to move there, but no jobs ever worked out. I'm still getting rejection letters 8 months later from the 150+ resumes I submitted.
Texas is pretty intriguing to me right now as well, tbh. If I don't end up getting into the masters program I'm applying for this fall, I'll probably make another move and head that way.
But yeah, Texas seems to have jobs, cool people, a bunch of ILFers and music stuff to do. I'd say go for it!

Just don't come to Kansas. The music scene sucks and so does everything else. :(

Yea if you want to be unsuccessful and sell your own tickets. LOL

The music scene in KC has gone WAY down hill in the past decade. It used to be fucking awesome. We still have battle of the bands and shit like that but it's all music that sounds the same or fucking bullshit like Tech 9. God I hate that asshole.

There hasn't been anything significant to come out of this area in awhile IMO. But it can still be fun.

I wouldn't recommend the KC area though unless you like living in a shit part of town. If you were going to live around here, do yourself a favor and jump over the state line to Kansas (NOT KC, KS though). Better schools, nicer roads, cleaner restaurants..etc.

Cheap to rent/live
Not super hot like Florida etc
Not a lot of snow
A decent music scene
Plentiful construction work hopefully

What are my options?
Halifax meets three of those requirements. Rent can be a pile of shit unless you live with others and we can get a ridiculous amount of snow.

I guess the music scene depends on what you like to listen to.
