NDD: New Drone Day Grendel Drone Commander!

So Psyched... On its way! So pumped new Drone Day. Got THE box.. a Grendel Drone Commander! v2 with cv and 8v clock out! Will play so well ith the rig I am building.. Hell I could see having 4 of these all clocked together!

Thanks.. If anyone has some coo demos's that are not on you tube of some Orders of operation they tend to use to get it going or to tune cool sub harmonics I'd love to hear. The basic premise is strait forward but with all the push pulls it seams like it is probably the most subtle and tunable of the stand alone drones I have seen. Love the response to filter and pulse.. So cool.. It will take a while to get very precise with it but can't wait to just fiddle at this point.. Plan on finding a few really cool tones for samples and loops..

It came!!!!!!! So getting familiarized with it..You can tune pretty nicely.. easy to get a multi harmonic drone with triangles, squares or mixed. Pulse ing hard or soft. other harmonics from Pulse/LFO tuned with filter,. lost a couple of hrs just tripping out to it.. Fun.. Gonna see about sampling so lo horn blasts and use in sequencer. Cool how the gate/clock can drive a sequencer.. OOOOOOOH! fun.. have just played stand alone with effects so far.. Loves deap deep delay and all sorts of modulation.

If anybody has some favorite things to do with it and or what you hook up with it or in parallel. Let me know really interested in the clock and CV use you have with it

I generally have mine setup with AB-Synth > Randy's Revenge > Hoof > Dispatch Master
I really love how it sounds with the RR.
Especially square waved
It can get seriously dirty

I still haven't messed around with the clock or CV stuff though.
I honestly don't even know where to start
So I'm also really interested in other's response to that question too!

I'm actually really gassing for a Drone Commander/synth specific board right now. Something along the lines of:
EQD Pitch Bay > EQD Arpanoid > Walrus Audio Janus > RR > SS/BS Cloudsleep delay (when it comes out)

so I un boxed it played with it for 10 min added delay half way through this track. Still figuring it out. It is an iphone recording nestled into my headphones LOL going Grendel>tape delay>noisy cricket > headphones. So be nice LOL ITS AT WORK IN AN OFFICE ROFL

Thanks been playing with it and starting to get a hang of it it is a pretty broad device. I can sse how logging hrs will make it easier to dial in . The oscillators are great and spot on vs slightly off the harmonics are incredible here are a couple of more fun noodles. Just playing around but I did what I wanted to do. They are not pieces but I cna get to each place pretty quickly now... More time will yield a bunch. I could see having 4 ganged together in a year :-) All these ar in my office while Im working recorded with voice recorder app! LOL on an iphone nested inside a pair of headphones so you can hear a bunch of people shuffling about!
