Do you stick to 250k pots, go 500k, or? What brands of pots? What do you like for tone caps?
No switches on jazz or precision basses but feel free to add other mods you like.

Re: bass rewiring!
that really depends on the pickups and how the bass sounds and what frequency you want to attenuate. More details on what you are working with would be helpful.

I'll throw a curve ball and say 1 meg pots. For me, I gives more upper end cut and open-ness. The trade off is that the roll off curve is steeper, but I never really roll of my tone or volume any way.

Re: bass rewiring!
I'm rewiring a Squier frankenJazz with Duncan designed pickups (60s vm body and hardware, maple neck from 77 vm jazz). Will it be 'louder' if I go with 500k, or brighter if I use a 500k for tone? Probably the cheap stock pots, but I'm not getting good rolloff on either. The pickups sound great full bore, but I'm feeling like a 500k tone pot with a bigger cap would give it more range...
