Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I'm about 3 songs behind in writing lyrics for them. I can't write lyrics when I'm in a good mood and everything is going my way. Or lyrics that i think are good anyway. Seems when i am in a good mood I have to force them out or something and they all come out shitty and contrived it seems. When I'm pissed about something it seems like there is more conviction in those words. I fucking hate singing.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I have the same problem, unless I write something that's really genuine I feel like I'm just whining or being ridiculous with dark lyrics now. Not that my life is all rainbows and apple pie, but I'm more well adjusted and tend to try not to let dark thoughts oppress and depress me as much as they used to. It's part of the reason the last band I sang in broke up after 5 years. I just plain ran out of ideas for lyrics and I was stretching pretty hard on the last songs we did, trying every kind of writing exercise I could come up with. I only ever wrote lyrics that were based purely on my own emotions and convictions. I played around with storytelling type lyrics a lot towards the end of that last band, but it wasn't a great fit for the style. Now I'm starting to write a bunch of music for myself, to do a solo project...and I'm just stuck on vocals. I can do a lot of different vocals styles easily, but I'm a blank on lyrical ideas.conky wrote:I'm about 3 songs behind in writing lyrics for them. Literal sentient, hypersexual breakfast foods? Someone could take away a small, but very weird portion of GWAR's market share.D.o.S. wrote:I'm not talking about metaphor--I'm talking self aware foodstuffs.

I have nothing important to say besides piss and moan about the current state of this country. No one wants to hear that. haha SO I just make metaphorical unintelligent sounds to express my disgust.
