Thanks guys! I'm really excited about it. So excited about it, that I might actually end up building myself another in the future, and run it off of a single KT88 :D :doom:
Once you put the octal socket in, it's just about changing around the 3 blue resistors for the fixed bias!

Anyways- Ryan- if you go to Turretboards.com they sell kits! Caps, resistors, boards, blank chassis, etc! In all, with recycling the transformers, I'd say it cost around $200-250ish for everything? Something like that, but not really bad at all
Under VJR Stuff they let you choose your board type (turrets or eyelets), your caps (Mallory or Orange Drop) and your resistors (Carbon Comp or Carbon Film), and also have the upgrade kit which is really all the other junk you would buy anyways- the jacks, grounding lugs, etc. Not sure how their price on transformers compare, but I have a Classic Tone replacement output transformer which is rated up to 15w, which I would definitely use again if I was going with a KT88 or any other sort of larger tube.

I hope so dude. If I get all the parts I need tonight it will be!
Will be nice to flex the speaker a little bit at higher volumes. It says that the switch was delivered today, so it's just down to the cap and last output jack and then I'll be good to go. Fingers crossed!

Currently put the head inside the old combo shell so I could take it out of the house today since I couldn't meet up with Brandon in time to drill mounting holes. Hoping this upcoming week to stop by his shop so we can fit it all together!

Looking sharp skully, very well done! Looks like a really fun project to boot. Can't wait to see it all finished up chilling in that sexy new combo shell you acquired. The kt88 model would be sick as well I'm sure.

Thanks man! It was SO much fun. I had a blast figuring stuff out and turning it on for the first time. Soooo stoked to get it into the shell where it belongs. Still honestly getting used to actually using a guitar speaker for once hahaha

If I can figure out the resistors I would need for a KT88 I will totally make one. I think that would be totally awesomely unnecessary in the best way possible!

It fucking rips man :doom:

Low gain settings are nice and crystal clear with a lot of detail and some of the best low volume cleans I've heard.
Cranked gets a really nice light drive to it, more apparent on the lower strings that gradually fades on the higher strings, just a touch of grit.
It can get LOUD. Not stupid loud, but a nice loud. I've cranked it in 2 places now, and it's filled both pretty well.
Brandon and I kind of improvised the mounting of the chassis tonight but I think it worked out really, really well.
