Looking forward to it. I want to hear how the pickups sound outside of the context of black metal. Most reviews seem favorable.Ancient Astronaught wrote:I will make sure to do a demo then!!!!odontophobia wrote:Interested in hearing some samples of the Black Winters.Ancient Astronaught wrote: SD Black Winter pickup set
Dirge SHO / Looper
Also... Almost bought that DIRGE SHO. Really wanted to... sometimes it's hard to justify when you're not flipping something in return.

Mission has that dual exp thing. or you get a stereo pot and mod an existing exp. pedal (like the moog ep-2) or a wah for dual action.Wes Mantooth wrote:I want to get a dual expression pedal to hook up to my Möbius and my ML2, what should I be looking at?
Definitely want two outputs because the thought of simultaneously shifting pitch shifting in quadrature mode and fucking with the delay time sounds amazing

Fairfield Circuitry's Unpleasant Surprise arrived today (thanks vrom!) and it is awesome at what it does. It has really inspiring sounds, and I just can't stop playing through it now. I hope I can find use for it in a band context.
There's an FC Accountant and Fredric Effects' Super Unpleasant Companion in the mail as well. This is a good way to start a year.

Thanks, it sounds awesome! I'll have to try it someday I think, that sounds like a thing I would like for sure.Doctor X wrote:its really interesting, different to everything else - get one!monkeydancer wrote:Doctor X I'm interested in what you think about that QF-2, those have always intrigued me.
its great with complex and wide range chords, its probably more of a smooth distortion rather than an overdrive or fuzz, at the moment i've been using it more at the lower gain range.
one of the best things is that the expression pedal covers the full range of the filters sweep and you can get unique wah/phasery sounds.
i hope to get some kind of lfo cv at some point so i can use it with a fixed lfo rather than manually sweeping
Source audio like Schlatte said or you could go full awesome and get an expressionator and do everything!Wes Mantooth wrote:I want to get a dual expression pedal to hook up to my Möbius and my ML2, what should I be looking at?

Expressionator is AMAZEBALLZ. the Source works really well and is a bit cheaper than the Mission i think?
i've had all three, the Mission and Source seem about the same sturdiness, solid little butts.

Haha, ILF'd!
First time I've had some money to buy pedals just for the fun of it, and not necessarily to get a specific sound in my band. Here's to having some nice gear at home!

Hmm maybe I'll go moog with an expressionator or just a Source or Mission one, don't know if I need three outputs but you never know...behndy wrote:Expressionator is AMAZEBALLZ. the Source works really well and is a bit cheaper than the Mission i think?

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
Well, as a lot of you now, it snowed this week. A lot. Like a lot a lot, so I was stuck in my house and couldn't go to work. Anyways, I was on facebook and a friend of mine made a post saying that he was selling all of his bass effects, and to message him for info and prices. So I asked him what he has and he said a chorus pedal (which turned out to be a meastro ch-70), a boss flanger and and Akai Unibass and Deep Impact.
I calmly asked him how much he was looking for each one, and he said 20 each for the chorus and flanger, and that the Akai's were rare and went for $80 on ebay, so $40 each. I shit my pants and after a minute I offered him $100 for everything but the flanger, and it was done. I'm guessing that he bought them brand new (I have one of the boxes), and he checked ebay maybe like 10+ years ago and never checked again. He doesn't seem like much of a gear junkie, but he's a fantastic bassist.
Sadly, I have to thank an enormous snow storm for all of this.
