I don't really do mixed drinks but my two favorite were from experimenting with milk based drinks. my roommates and I would take a gallon jug of milk pour some out and ad a Kahlua knockoff and some cheap vodka and then drink it until there was enough space to ad more, so it would go until the dregs were boozy and syrupy and amazing. its hard to beat a big ol jug of white russian that gets stronger as you drink. my other favorite was with spiced rum and chai and milk. really spicy and peppery and great.

I made the mistake of never getting you to drink the Black Walnut Old Fashioned at Patterson House. Cuz that drink is incredible.

Is this in Nashville? If so, I want one. I go there every once in a while to visit my folks. I love a good old fashioned. I recently had the worst old fashioned of my life, ironically, at the same bar that a year or two ago served me the best old fashioned that I've had.

Yeah man! The place is very hipster (a prohibition-era speakeasy theme) but they make ridiculously good drinks, and the staff is super friendly and will figure out what to make for you based on what you like. It's a good place to get an after-dinner drink since it's a little pricey, but is well worth the trip. Especially whiskey and tequila cocktails.

Sazerac the right way (Herbsaint). Martinis of various composition as long as they're gin an actually Martinis (that is some non-trivial amount of vermouth). Mojitos in summer. Sidecars and French 75s. Don't like Mint Juleps unless made with rye--just doesn't work as well with Bourbon.

Wow, yeah, same for me, all of the booze I drink is apparently Republican. That's so weird, I wonder why it's so off the mark.

Also, mixed drinks are for wimmins and teenagers. Unless you're on vacation.

I really only hit the mixed drinks anymore when I'm sick or hung over. Nothing like a screwdriver or a gin & juice to make you feel nice and healthy while getting your buzz on. Our go-to drink in college was Seagram's Lime Twisted Gin with OJ from the frozen concentrate in the can thingy. Is the OJ in the can still even a thing? I still crave that concoction once in a while....

Used to be big on whiskey and coke too...now I cringe at how much good Kentucky bourbon I wasted by mixing it with fizzy sugar water. Except for the Jim Beam - that's all Beam is really good for.
