Re: the DOOM WORKOUT
Well the personal trainer experience was humbling, but good. It's clear my conditioning has gone completely to shit as I thought I was going to throw up several times. Surprisingly it was the kettle bell jump squat ladder motherfuckers that killed me. And the reverse-lunge-step-up-shoulder-press-bullshit. And the god damn burpees. My legs were shot going in and I cramped up several times. Good times.

welcome to met-con type CrossFit shit. Pukie the Clown showing up. Burpees always suck and they are the puke inducers.Harry_Manback wrote:Well the personal trainer experience was humbling, but good. No shit, Pukie the Clown. Look forward to mixing this in with StrongLifts but it will extend my last 12 workouts. Ah well.new05002 wrote:welcome to met-con type CrossFit shit. Pukie the Clown showing up. Burpees always suck and they are the puke inducers.
Nice work on the 48" box jumps man. You'll be dunking in no time.

Re: the DOOM WORKOUT
No feedback on SL form...different gym. I really should take some quick vids of the squat and DL for you to check out. I don't think it's terrible, but I'm sure my deadlift form gets a bit ugly with heavy weight.vidret wrote:did he/she tell you anything about your form on your SL lifts?

Hit 315 lbs. for 5 reps on deadlifts today after a couple of light warmup sets. Three plate goal achieved and it felt pretty good!

Re: the DOOM WORKOUT
Shit yeah 3 plate deadlifts!
Just wait til you hit 3 plate squats, you'll feel on cloud 9.
First day back in the gym since before I went away for Christmas. I originally intended for it just to be a rest week but then I wound up traveling almost nonstop for 2 and a half weeks. Damn.
ANYWAY
Bench went down 10 lbs but incline DB press went up 10 and tricep pushdown went up 15. Rest weeks are weird, mang.

Re: the DOOM WORKOUT
Thanks man. It felt like a "big boy" lift.
I can't imagine squatting 3 plates, that's serious business.
Rest weeks are definitely weird but I think they're good every couple months or so, at least for me, to let my body re-set and recover. I usually take a complete pass and totally abuse my liver and lungs.

Thanks man, felt good. Weird that I thought about videoing it for some internet dudes I've never met?
Quit wrestling with dudes.
I kid. Rib injuries take forever to heal from experience. I ate shit on a mountain bike ride in October and jammed a broken tree branch right into my side. Pretty sure I cracked a rib cuz it took nearly two months to feel "normal." I was able to just push through it though so it was relatively minor, hurt like a mofo for a while but I'm a pussy. Still have scars on my butt which the wife loves (not).

"Convict Conditioning"!vidret wrote:you're not making it easy mansamzadgan wrote:so...was looking into this crossfit thing...now, if i didn't want to go to the gym and i dont have weights or exercise equipment at home...can i simulate similar workouts at home?![]()
google "convict conditioning" and look at the pictures. pushups, pullups (from under a table or something i guess) and one legged squats and what have you. some guys on earlier pages mentioned "you are your own gym" or something like that.
usually people don't really get into it enough when they try what you're looking at and end up getting nowhere. heck, i've only managed to workout at moast 10 times in my life at home, if even that.
it reminds me of a conversation i had with a guy once and he told me his brother never went to the gym, and was built like a tank, he referred to his routine as "Prison Weights"...i asked him..."is that something he does at home?"...he replied..."No, his in Prison..."
anyway, i looked it up, thats exactly the stuff i was looking for. I know what you mean about training at home, it doesn't have the same energy. But i wanted to do it for a while and build myself up and then i can go to a local Crossfit club. In the shape I'm in, which is ok from cardio perspective but not strength, i'd die in those classes.

Re: the DOOM WORKOUT
Good news: Cleared a 4 plate deadlift today!
Bad news: like an overeager kid on prom night I forced it a little too much and fucked up my back. Can't sleep because of it. Good-bye, gains.

Kidding...that's huge! Sorry about your back man that sucks. Hope it heals fast. I've not had any luck with chiros but PT was very helpful when my back shit the bed.
